Grey Lynn sisters Paulette and Sonya Cotter and their epic team operate Double Happy as an entirely charitable project, with all proceeds going directly to benefit children.
The pair did some initial research, talking to principals of low-decile primary schools to better understand the needs of children living in poverty.
“They told us about the hidden issue of sickness and absenteeism, and that a lack of warm clothing caused health issues and impacted on attendance”.
Double Happy launched in 2017 year and started small with family and friends.
Double Happy has given away over 1000 hoodies so far, and this year they are hoping to take it even bigger.
